Crayola 64 Count Star Wars Crayons: What's Inside the Box

I present the Crayola Star Wars Crayons 64 count boxes.  These boxes came out on September 4, 2015, #SharetheForce day.  That hashtag is actually the hash tag from Target and these boxes are not available there.  All the stores had a huge day and released all their Star Wars merchandise on the same day.  I do not know why it was so early, the movie does not come out until December.  They could have waited for a couple of months, but I suspect it is because they wanted to get the Star Wars toys out there for Christmas season.  And of course it was the 4th because May the 4th has become May the Force be with you do, with every one and their dog posting pictures about Star Wars that day.

Back to the crayons.  These crayons are very special.  There are so many unique things about the crayons and the box design. First off the crayons are all all wrapped in black wrappers, for the Star Wars theme. Next the colors in the box are not the same.  They even have a few retired colors in the boxes.  And next the coolest thing that I think is out there, is the GLITTER CRAYONS ARE NAMED. It drives me absolutely nuts when Crayola does not name their crayons.  They haven't named their glitter crayons in years, and there appears to be some new glitter names on these crayons.  The other crayons that were added to the box can be found in the True Blue Heroes boxes, which has not been around for forever and the Metallic FX crayons, which are still included in the Ultimate Crayon collection, but not sold separately. The other cool thing about these crayons is the box design.  The front features part of the face of the character and the side completes that picture.  On the back is one of my favorite things about this box design.  They put all the crayon names in the Star Wars opening credits style.  Crayola hardly ever puts the names of crayons on big crayon boxes.  This was a definite rarity.

I suspect these boxes will be highly collectible for a couple reasons. They are not sold at all stores.  Target did not have these and I bought them at Kohl's online. (Which I'm not too happy with Kohl's because the sticker they put on the back does not come off without tearing the box). And other crayons/Star Wars Crayola merchandise was at Target, but it was literally in the back corner of the store on the bottom shelf of the crayon area on the shelf facing the wall, where people would not see it easily.  The Bendon books crayons, which typically make dollar books for Crayola were above them.  They were hiding. I bought those things too and will be posting about them soon.

The only other thing is one of these crayons came damaged.  I plan on emailing Crayola and hopefully they can send me a replacement crayon. Whew...that was a lot to say about these crayons, but there are a lot of unique things about this box.

    1. I have the same exact ones here. Got ours from Ollie's. Very cheap at $1.99 from regular price $4.99 at the time. Mine are not opened or used. Not sure what to do with them but hold onto them now.
